Card Me Thursday - The Gentlemen Card

I tell ya I think I'm getting better at making manly cards, this was one I made for my father-in-law.  Now not my design but be blowed if I can remember who's card/tag I based it on and for that I'm sorry :(.

Lots of ink and distress goodness in this one, I loved every minute of making it!

The card base was made from a piece of black distress cardstock I embossed and sanded. The card front was a piece of white card stamped with black archival ink then covered with distress inks, the edges distressed and inked also.  The Tim Holtz - Gentlemen stamp I inked on to a piece of manila card then cut out.  The happy birthday letters were cut from black distress cardstock using my Silhouette Cameo.  A piece of black ribbon tied in the center with twine and tada... a great Male Card ready to be posted.

Have a great day!

Project Life - Week 7

Hi Folks,

Yep I'm back on the project life wagon!  I was really, really un-inspired by my pages :(  I just couldn't put my finger on it (why), the pages didn't really tell the story, each page was just a little flat, a little non scrapbook looking...  and then I saw Jessica Sprague's pages and bingo... INSPIRED AGAIN!!!  So I went back and revamped all the pages I've done so far and created a couple more.

What's working for me at the moment - I love the matted round corner background, it just seems to frame the pages.  All journal boxes and photos are smaller, they don't look quite so in your face - this I definitely love.  Each week has a title, I can now see at a glance which week the pages are for...lol.  Journaling straight on the photo gives the photo more meaning for anyone that wasn't there when the photo was taken.  I'm going to stick with a list style of what happens each day but I will tie the photos to the list with a day sticker, again I think this will give the photos more meaning for the reader. What do you think?

Over all, so, so, so happy with these pages :)

Have a great day!

12 Tags...DONE!!!

Howdy Folks,

Guess what???  I have finally... FINALLY, finished my 12 tags of Christmas 2011...hahaha!!!

I know, I know it's almost June 2012 but better late than never right!  I did a bit of improvising as I didn't have everything on the supply list but hey, I find that is half the fun .  I must say though, when I finished Tim Holtz - Chemistry 101 the last tags came together much quicker.  That is one course well worth the money!

Now that the tags are finished I can have my December Daily 2011 pages printed into a book...YIPEEEEEE!!!

Have a great day!

A Cut Above - The Silhouette

Doin the Happy Dance...

Week two of classes started of with lessons on the silhouette, I have soooo been waiting for these.  I L.O.V.E. my Cameo so, so much :insert heart:!  Ali Edwards is one of the generous sponsors and provided the cute hugs and frame wordart.  This card was a snap to put together...

Here is my recipe for a simple, easy, cute card!

Ingredients:
1 card of brown card stock
1 wordart and frame die cutting file
1 flower die cut
adhesive spray
bling

Method:
1. Fold card stock in half.   2. Cut out wordart, spray back with adhesive, stick to card front. 3. Die cut flowers, stick to card front, use bling as flower centers.

Have a great day!

A Cut Above - Day 6

Faux Letterpress...
Another technique I enjoyed throughly... embossing, stamping and inking what's not to love right...hehehe.  Faux letterpress is so very easy to do and the results look terrific, I can see me using this technique for wedding invitations...Ooooo they would look fabulous =)

I used Tim Holtz Fancy & Floral Fames Embossing folder, Inks and mini Tattered Flowers die.  The other flowers are Silhouette cut files.  You can't really see but I added just a little bit of Sticklers on the edge of the flowers, they look so pretty to the naked eye  =)

Have a great day!

A Cut Above - Day 5

Hi Folks...

Fabric flowers... now who doesn't like fabric flowers??? Well in today's lesson we learnt how to put together strips of ribbon for die cutting.  As the only shaped die I had for this technique was a flower, that's what I got... a fabric flower.  Then just because I could, I pulled out some sticky back canvas and cut a couple more flowers which then got stamped with distressed ink.  I really, really, really love the ribbon idea =)

The card is made with paper from the Prima - En Francais collection A4 paper stack, Flowers - Tim Holtz Tattered Flowers die.

Have a great day!
